1. General
This agreement is between you (the user of this website) and www.constructionskillcard.co.uk, referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our” throughout this agreement. By accessing and using this website, you agree to follow and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept these terms, please discontinue use of the website immediately.
Please note that we are not affiliated with CSCS or CITB. A service fee applies when using our platform.
2. Your Right to Cancel.
You have the right to cancel your order within the 14-day statutory period. However, if the service has already begun, it will be considered provided and your right to cancel will no longer apply. For more information, please refer to our Cancellation Policy.
If we make an error while processing your booking, we will make every effort to correct it. If we are unable to resolve the issue, we will refund our service fee.
All communication must be submitted through our contact form: Contact Us. We strive to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours, excluding weekends and bank holidays. Please note that by submitting the required documentation, you forfeit your right to cancel the order, and a refund fee may apply as outlined in our terms.
3. Cancellation / Refund Policy
- If you cancel your test within 4 full working days of the scheduled date and we have booked the date you requested, a refund cannot be issued.
- If you cancel with more than 4 full working days’ notice, you may receive a refund for each test booked, minus a £20 administration fee.
- Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of placing the original order; otherwise, no refund will be granted.
- Alternatively, you can choose to reschedule your test at no extra cost, as long as the request is made more than 4 full working days before the test date.
- All cancellations must be made in writing through email or our contact form, using the same email address used during payment.
- Refunds will be processed back to the original credit or debit card within 10 working days from the date of a valid request. If it takes longer, please get in touch with us.
4. CSCS Cards
Business customers who request a refund after placing an order will incur a £20 administrative fee. Additionally, if a refund is requested after we have reviewed your documents and found them unsuitable for the card you are applying for, a £20 admin fee will also apply.
Non-business customers will be charged a £20 administration fee per card if a refund is requested after we have started processing the application. Our service begins once you upload the required documentation through our system. If you do not provide the correct documentation, a £20 administration fee will also apply.
- All submitted (completed) CSCS card applications are non-refundable.
- New or renewed CSCS cards are not guaranteed to be issued automatically.
- We will send you a link to upload the necessary documents for your CSCS card application. You must
upload these documents within 60 days; otherwise, no refund will be issued.
- We may contact you via email to request additional information related to your CSCS card
application
(please check your junk/spam folder). You must respond with the required information or
qualifications within 60 days. Failure to do so will result in your application being unable to
proceed and no refund will be provided.
- If you do not receive your CSCS card or any information requests within 14 days of your
application,
please contact us promptly.
- It is the responsibility of the customer and their business to ensure they possess or will obtain
the relevant qualifications required to complete their CSCS card application within 60 days.
Customers or candidates unable to provide the necessary documentation will not be eligible for a
refund. However, if a refund is requested within 60 days and your application has been processed but
not submitted to CSCS, we will issue a full refund minus a £20 administration fee.
- After you submit all the correct information to us, your CSCS card will typically be sent within
5-10 working days. Please note that we cannot guarantee the delivery timeframe as CSCS cards are not
issued directly by us, and processing times may vary. Delays can also occur due to COVID-19.
Please note: Business customers are defined as those operating within the Construction Industry who use business details—such as a business email address and/or business address—when purchasing our products.
5. Re-schedule Policy
If you wish to reschedule your test, please do so at least 4 working days before the scheduled date and time. Rescheduling requests made within 4 working days of the test will not be accepted. We offer free rescheduling as part of our service, and you can reschedule as many times as needed within this timeframe. To reschedule, please use the Contact Us form on our website.
6. Cancellations and changes
Individual test centres reserve the right to change test dates and times without prior notice. In such cases, we will provide you with alternative dates and available options.
Construction Certification, CITB, CSCS, and the individual CITB test centres accept no responsibility for any claim, loss, liability, cost, or expense of any kind arising directly or indirectly from cancellations or changes to your test, or from you not being issued a CSCS card.
When purchasing a CITB test and retake option:
- The candidate is allowed only one free retest.
- The free retest is non-transferable and cannot be used by another person.
- The candidate must book their free retest within 7 days of failing the test by emailing us via the Contact Us form.
7. Fit for purpose
When placing an order, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the product or service selected is suitable for their needs. We do not accept any liability if a customer chooses the wrong test, card, or course based on the information or guidance provided by us through this website, phone, email, or other communication channels. The information we provide is intended as a general guide and should be used alongside consultation with your site foreman or employer to confirm you are selecting the correct card, course, or test for yourself or the person you are ordering for.
8. Strict COVID-19 Exclusion Policy
We, our employees (whether directly employed, subcontracted, or otherwise), and any test centres involved, are not liable for any claims, losses, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind that arise directly or indirectly from COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, or any of their variants or mutations. This exclusion also covers any claims or losses resulting from: (i) any fear or perceived threat of COVID-19 or its variants, and (ii) any measures taken to control, prevent, or respond to outbreaks of COVID-19 or its variants.
9. Pricing
We charge an administration fee for our service, which covers a range of benefits including—but not limited to—using our simple and user-friendly website and application forms, checking applications for errors, submitting applications, making bookings, unlimited rescheduling of test dates, identifying test date cancellations, providing information, guidance, and support to help applicants get on site faster (saving time and money), as well as necessary email and telephone correspondence and related training course offerings. Our service fee ranges between £21 and £29 per application or booking, inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate.
The total fees are as follows:
- CITB test: £43
- CSCS card: £65
- Health, Safety, and Awareness course: £156
- Revision material: £19.95
10. Health, Safety and Awareness Course
- To create an account, you must provide a unique email address.
- You need a computer or laptop equipped with a webcam, speakers, microphone, and the Google Chrome browser that meets the required technical standards to complete the course. (Details below)
- You must fill out the exam registration form and have your identification ready before taking the exam.
- The exam can only be taken after you have fully completed the entire course.
- Before the exam, candidates must show valid photo identification, such as a passport, driver’s license, or a work ID card that includes both photo and full name.
- If you miss or fail an exam, a rebooking fee of up to £60 will apply.
- This course does not cover the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test for Operatives or a CSCS card; these need to be booked separately through our website.
- After finishing the final exam, it may take up to 14 days for your certification to be issued by the awarding organization. This is standard procedure.
- Both the course and the final exam must be completed in English only.
- The course registration is non-transferable and cannot be used by another person.
- The course fee is non-refundable. However, if you have not accessed the course, you can request a full refund within 30 days of purchase minus a £50 administrative fee (to cover reallocation costs with the awarding body). After 30 days, and once the course has been accessed, no refunds will be given.
- You are required to finish the course and pass the exam within 12 months of purchase. After this period, access to the course and exam will be revoked and no refunds will be issued.
11. Termination and Cancellation
You or we can close your account at any time. If we close your account, we will notify you by email and explain why. However, we also reserve the right to close your account without providing any reason.
- If your account is terminated, any existing or upcoming orders or payments will still proceed, and services will be delivered accordingly.
- We reserve the right to cancel any orders or payments at any time before processing or starting service, without giving a reason.
- Refunds will only be considered if we are unable to provide the service, and may be issued partially or fully at our discretion, minus an administration fee.
- Our service begins immediately once you place your order, without delay.
- By placing your order and confirming the booking, you authorize us to start delivering the service right away.
- Once your order is made, you forfeit the right to cancel the agreement, as the service begins instantly.
- This does not affect your other legal rights as a consumer.
- If we cancel the order or payment before starting the service, any money you’ve paid will be fully refunded.
12. Services, Pricing and Availability
Customers are responsible for making sure the products or services they choose meet their specific needs. We are not liable if a product or service does not match the customer’s requirements.
- We aim to accurately describe all services, but slight differences may occur. This does not remove our responsibility for any errors caused by our own negligence and only applies to minor variations, not completely different services.
- We are not responsible if you do not receive your certificate, CSCS card, or any other documents from the awarding body or training provider.
- The individual who completes the online booking is considered the “booker” and is accountable for fulfilling all legal obligations.
- We are not liable if the candidate provides incorrect information, is not eligible to attend the test center, or fails to submit necessary documentation.
- The responsibility for issuing test pass certificates and related services lies with the awarding body, not with us or this website.
- Neither we nor this website are affiliated with any official government body, organization, or authority. These services can also be booked directly through the official channels.
- We do not issue certificates or documentation ourselves.
- All prices listed on the website are accurate at the time they are posted. We reserve the right to adjust pricing or remove promotions when necessary.
- If there is a price change between the time you place your order and when payment is processed, the service will still be provided at the originally quoted price.
- All listed prices include VAT at the applicable rate.
12. Communications
Customers are responsible for making sure the products or services they choose meet their specific needs. We are not liable if a product or service does not match the customer’s requirements.
- All notices or communications should be sent to us by post to our business address (as listed above) or through our Contact Us page.
- Notices will be considered received three working days after being posted via first-class mail, or within two working days if sent by email. Please refer to the contact details provided above.
13. Services - Provision
- Services will begin once full payment has been received, unless otherwise specified in the Terms & Conditions related to those specific services.
- Confirmation is considered delivered once we send an email or SMS. We are not responsible for any issues caused by incorrect contact details provided by the customer.
- All services are subject to the terms and conditions specific to each individual service.
- If the service delivered is incorrect or does not match your order, you must notify us within 7 days. We will correct the issue within 14 working days.
- We reserve the right to make changes to the services at our discretion. Factors we may consider include, but are not limited to:
- Any benefit or use you may have already received from the service.
- Whether stopping the service would require significant additional work or costs on our part.
- This discretion will be applied only within the boundaries of applicable law.
14. Privacy
- Use of this website is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is included as part of these Terms and Conditions.
- You agree that your personal information may be processed in accordance with GDPR and applicable data protection laws.
- You consent to being contacted by us and our partner companies regarding your booking, future bookings, related courses, and for marketing purposes, unless you opt out as allowed by law.
- We and our partners may contact you with information about construction training, courses, or other services we believe may be relevant to you. Your details may be shared with our suppliers for these purposes.
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective from 25 May 2018, ensures your data is used transparently and protected from unauthorized access and breaches.
- By accepting these terms, you permit us and our partners to use your data to provide course-related updates, certifications, newsletters, event information, and other relevant content in compliance with GDPR.
15. Disclaimers
- We do not guarantee that the website will meet your needs, be of acceptable quality, serve a specific purpose, be free from third-party rights issues, be fully compatible with all devices, or be completely secure and accurate. No specific outcomes are promised from using our services.
- The content on this website is not intended as professional advice and should not be used to make decisions or take action.
- Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a contractual offer that can be accepted.
- While we make efforts to maintain a secure and error-free website, users are responsible for their own online security, including their personal data and devices.
